The Shundarbans


Shundarbans is the largest mangrove forest of the world. Most of the people know about the this forest more or less. This is not only a forest but also a home land of rare trees and animals. Total area of this forest is not less than 38500 sq km.One third of this area is covered with water. This forest shelters approximately 400 Royal Bengal Tigers, and 30000 deer. There are over 120 species of fish in the river. This forest is also a homeland of nearly 260 species of birds.
